What is voice cloning for in a book?
A stable narrator. Not a novelty filter. Characters stay mapped so the speaker does not drift in chapter twenty.
Authors ask for cloning when the library voice is not the house voice, or when a cleared narrator must continue a series. The clone lives next to library voices, uploads, and your own recordings. Pronunciation still applies.
Cloning is a metered production operation. It is never unlimited. Library voices remain available without it.

How does voice cloning work for a book?
You lock a narrator from the Voice Library, clone a house voice you are cleared to use, upload an existing take, or record your own. Characters stay mapped so the speaker does not drift mid-book.

Is cloning required to produce an audiobook?
No. The Voice Library can carry a title. Cloning is for a house voice or a cleared narrator you need to keep. It is a metered production operation, not unlimited.
Will the narrator change mid-book?
That is the failure mode the studio is designed against. Consistency is a studio rule: one character, one voice, every chapter.
